1. Do I need any prior musical knowledge to start learning the duduk?
Not at all. Many students begin as complete beginners and do not read music.
Lessons often start by ear, focusing on sound, breath, and finger placement so you can begin playing right away. As you progress, I gradually introduce basic musical notes as a supportive tool for practice and long-term development.
2. What if I don’t have a duduk yet?
No worries, in our first free session, I’ll explain the basics and guide you on how to choose the right duduk for your needs and budget.
I work with professional Armenian duduk makers whose instruments I confidently recommend to my students for their reliability.
There’s no obligation to buy through this partnership, but if you choose to, I’ll guide you personally so you start with the right instrument for your journey.
3. What happens after the free session?
After the free session, we discuss whether the academy is a good fit and which track, weekly or bi-weekly, best supports your learning. If you choose to enroll, you begin with the Year 1 curriculum.
Enrollment is ongoing and billed monthly, allowing flexibility while supporting steady, long-term progress.
4. How do lessons get scheduled?
Lessons are scheduled within a weekly rhythm. Lessons not used in the month do not carry over, but priority rescheduling is possible with notice.
5. What is expected of students between lessons?
Students are encouraged to arrive on time and prepared for the session.
Regular practice between lessons supports steady progress, and open communication about challenges is always welcome.
Having your duduk and reeds warmed-up and ready helps make each session productive.
6. What if I miss a lesson?
You may reschedule a lesson within the same month provided you give a minimum of 24 hour advance notice, subject to availability. Lessons missed without sufficient notice, or not rescheduled within the month, are not refundable.
If the teacher must reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, this is handled within the academy’s planned calendar and contingency structure, ensuring continuity of the program.
7. Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. Students who complete the academic year with consistent participation and progress may receive a LearnDudukOnline Academy Certificate of Completion.
8. How do I pay for lessons?
Billing is monthly. Payments are international and secure.
Students typically pay using Remitly, Paysend, or Payoneer.
Alternative options such as Wise, Ria Money Transfer, Western Union, or bank transfer are available when needed.
9. How is the tuition and payment billing structure?
Tuition is based on a flat monthly rate, not the number of lessons in a specific month. Holidays and planned breaks are already accounted for in the academy calendar, so tuition remains consistent throughout the year.
